English Championships 2010 videos

BGtv covered the 2010 English Championships (5th-7th March) and that’s why you can watch a lot of good videos on their website with good commentary. The reporter tells us a lot about the difficulty, execution and value of the elements.

Don’t forget to watch Elizabeth Tweddle‘s gold-medal-winning floor routine (1,5 twists into roundoff double arabian into straddle jump; piked double arabian; 2,5 twists into layout – 6.0/14.600) and her uneven bars (6.6/14.850). She is already in good shape for the European Championships in Birmingham (21 April – 1 May). Will she be able to defend her titles on FX and UB?

Becky Downie falls on her press to handstand mount on beam. That’s something I’ve never seen before in a competition.

Chusovitina VT – video

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I found this video of Oksana Chusovitina on vault. She not only competed at the World Cup in Cottbus (where she qualified first on vault with a handspring layout fwd. with 1/1 twist and Tsukahara 1 ½ twists - 13.925) but also at the 2010 Houston National Invitational (results), where she finished 3rd on vault with a score of 14.100.

Gymnastike covered the event, but I couldn’t find a video of Chusovitina’s vault.

Chusovitina recovered quickly from two surgeries she had last year and will celebrate her 35th birthday this year.
