Maribor World Cup – first results

The qualifications for the event finals on Saturday and Sunday at the World Cup in Maribor are finished.

Gymnastic stars like Diego Hypolito (BRA) or Mitja Petkovsek (SLO) showed routines with high difficulty and received good scores. Hypolito qualified on floor by a large margin (15.700 – the second, Alex Shatilov (ISR), “only” got 14.850).

Petkovsek also pleased the home crowd with 15.700 points on parallel bars – the second, Garcia Arkaitz (ESP) the same points as Shatilov, 14.850).

On high bar, Epke Zonderland (NED) placed first (15.400) ahead of Alijaz Pegan (SLO) second (15.150). Hopefully, Zonderland will hit his routine this time in the finals!

Unfortunately, the womens gymnasts field isn´t very strong.  The three Russian girls gained the top spots at all four apparatus: Ekaterina Kurbatova (vault, 14.250; bars, 14.500), Kristina Goryunova (beam, 14.450) and Anna Myzdrikova (floor, 14.150)
