The next city of the Champions Trophy, one of the best endowed gymnastics competitions with altogether 200.000 Euro prize money, is my hometown Berlin. In September (19th), eight world class gymnasts will fight for the big money. I received already a free ticket, when I was judging at a competition two weeks ago – it seems as if it might become difficult to fill the Max-Schmeling-Halle (which holds 7.500 seats) only by selling tickets for 12 to 3o Euros.
Fabian Hambüchen (GER,1), Maxim Deviatovsky (RUS,5), Benoit Caranobe (FRA,8), Daniel Keatings (GBR), Joseph Hagerty (USA,3), Niki Böschenstein (SUI,6), Enrico Pozzo (ITA) and Philipp Boy (GER,7) or Marcel Nguyen (GER,2) – The number in the bracketts tells you their place at the first competition in Frankfurt six weeks ago (if they competed).
Unfortunately, there will be no Asian gymnast – from China or Japan. 😦
