Liveticker & Qualification Results: DTB World Cup

Click here for the liveticker (German). The women´s & men´s qualifications are over.

Here´s a new post about the first results of the event finals on Saturday!

Yesterday was a good day for the German girls on UB: Elisabeth Seitz got 14.100 (5.9) and Kim Bui 14.200 (6.0) (2nd & 1st in qualifications) – hopefully they cleaned their routines a bit since the Swiss Cup.

IG posted an article as well as the men´s and women´s roster.

Sui Lu and Hu Yuhong (CHN) both fell on BB. Ana Porgras (ROU) fell (still 13.175 (5.9)!) and Ksenia Semenova (RUS) nearly fell (12.975 (5.5)) on UB.

Former Russian gymnast Yelena Zamolodchikova was just announced as a judge…

Good to see 16 female gymnasts overall who tried to get into the final!

UNEVEN BARS

  1. Kim Bui (GER) – 14.200 (6.0) – highest D-Score; second highest score

  3. Bruna Leal (BRA) – 14.075 (5.6)
  4. Marta Pihan-Kulesza (POL) – 13.925 (5.7) – I´m curious to see her hair style for this competition. Blue, red, green?
  5. Aagje Vanwalleghem (BEL) – 13.925 (5.9) – Her second final, good job, Aagje!
  6. Jana Sikulova (CZE) – 13.475 (5.5)

BALANCE BEAM

  1. Ksenia Semenova (RUS) – 13.925 (5.8) – Yes, she pulled herself together and made the final!

  6. Marlies Rijken (NED) – 13.300 (5.4)

  8. Jana Komrskova (CZE) – 13.150 (4.8)

FLOOR

  1. Lu Sui (CHN) – 14.075 (5.6) – Last year, the Chinese won every gold medal (Cheng Fei & He Ning). This won´t happen again. But will Lu Sui bring home at least the gold on floor?
  2. Kim Bui (GER) – 14.050 (5.5)
  3. Elisabeth Seitz (GER) – 13.675 (5.5)
  4. Bruna Leal (BRA) – 13.425 (5.1)

  7. Priscila Cobello (BRA) – 13.125 (5.0)
  8. Natasja Blind (NED) – 12.825 (5.0)

I think it´s a nice field for the finals tomorrow!

And congratulations to the German gymnasts who achieved every final they competed for!

Now, let´s move on to the men…

2009 World Champion Zhang Hongtao (CHN) must have shown a nearly perfect (and I would say a really perfect routine if you aren´t a judge) on pommel horse: 16.350 (6.6!) – only two or three tenths of deduction. Prashanth Sellathurai (AUS) who had a 7.0 D-Score (16.000) couldn´t pass Zhang.

As far as I can see, there were a lot of falls on the mens side: Zhang (CHN) on HB (14.475 / 6.9), Pegan (SLO) fell twice doing the “Pegan” (11.425), Wammes didn´t land on his feet after his vault…

Good news: Flavius Koczi (ROU), vice-world champion on VT received 16.112 points! Hypolito proved that he is still great on floor: 15.900 (6.7) & Wang (CHN) rules PB: 16.175 (6.8).
