Best Acro Routines in 2012

2012 isn’t quite over, but acro season is… at least the big competitions, the World Cups and World Championships. Though I’m quite sure we will see some fantastic performances at numerous gym galas in Europe, I already compiled my favourite competitive routines from 2012.

Mixed Pair: Laure de Pryck / Nicolas Vleeshouwers (BEL) at Worlds with their combined routine. Such an artistic pair!

Women’s Pair: Anastasiya Melnychenko / Kateryna Sytnikova (UKR) at Worlds with their very elegant balance routine.

Women’s Group: Aigul Shaikhutdinova / Ekaterina Stroynova / Ekaterina Loginova (RUS) at Worlds with their combined routine. Their choreography isn’t one of my favourites but the elements are amazing.

Men’s Pair: Alexei Dudchenko / Konstantin Pilipchuk (RUS) at Worlds with their combined routine. I love how they incorporate some ironic choreo and even share a smile.

Junior Women’s Group: Julie van Gelder / Ineke Van Schoor / Laure Maes (BEL) at World Age Games with their balance routine. They are such great dancers.

Junior Mixed Pair: Hanna Shymanovich / Raman Kavalchuk (BLR) at European Championships 2011 with their balance routine – they didn’t compete at 2012 Worlds but in my opinion their routine is exceptional artistic, that’s why they still make the list.

Do you have a favourite acro routine?
